Selflessness
Message to the selfless
I’ve been posting my thoughts on my Gaia blog. Interest has dwindled in my blogs. In conclusion, it is that my thinking that I’m too far from the norm to be understood by most.
I noted “goals” in Gaia’s list of things and clicked on it. My goals appeared, one of which was selflessness. I observed that five other Gaia members put down selflessness as their goal. The idea came to mind that you and others who listed selflessness would be more likely to grasp my ideas.
Let’s begin with the thought that Nastradamus, Edgar Cayce, Merlin, the Mayan Calendar, and The Holy Bible all prophesied dooms day. The world as we know it ends in the year 2012. Nary a one of the famous prophesies tell us good things will happen in our future. Sociologist Robert K. Merton, in his book Social Theory and Social Structure, wrote:
“The self-fulfilling prophecy is, in the beginning, a false definition of the situation evoking a new behavior which makes the original false conception come 'true'. This specious validity of the self-fulfilling prophecy perpetuates a reign of error. For the prophet will cite the actual course of events as proof that he was right from the very beginning.”
We note that it isn’t news if it is good. Having said this, known only by a select few, the most advanced science is about to discover how the universe is put together, from the smallest excitation to the whole. Everything has a reason for being. A select few will know why this is so and that is so, for the good of all, enabling us to better predict the future.
I learned in Evan Harris Walker’s The Physics of Consciousness, the good news (if we so choose to call it that) is that “we are co-equals in the foundry of creation. . . The observer interacts with matter. Consciousness, the substance of this new-found reality that defines the observer, has fundamental existence. It is the quantum mind that is the basic reality.” Unfortunately, I’m given the idea by a conforming public, as though we were herd animals, that most of us choose to follow the leader.
Actually, who are we to do our own thing, or to criticize the established way of doing things? Good citizens are team players. I’ve been advised to not be a rock in the stream. In other words, go with the flow. Excuse me! Jesus did not go with the flow. The establishment crucified him. Selflessness implies to let each of us do his own thing with the idea in mind that he would not do anything to others that he would not want done to himself, like rob Peter to pay Paul, like government entitlements. Most Americans depend on government for their existence. We are witness to the results: runaway spending and the consequences. By the way, I depend on government entitlements. I’m not thinking about myself.
I’ve learned from The Elegant Universe by Brian Greene that the indivisible beginning of everything is vibrations. It’s called string theory, like violin strings. Vibrations can be reduced to numbers, so many vibrations per second. Numbers can be used to create patterns demonstrating harmony and symmetry. Our dog shows no appreciation for harmony and symmetry. I love to play and sing music. It uplifts me. As a human being, I count my blessings. I want to share my feeling with others.
In The Physics of Consciousness, Walker informs us that he used the Pythagorean theorem in his mathematics to prove Bell’s theorem, which proves a nonlocal universe beyond the forces of gravity and electromagnetism. Pythagoras was an astrologer, a mystic, and a musician. He spoke of the “music of the spheres.” The good news, if you can call it that, is that in astrology and numerology numbers are put together to make geometric patterns. Said patterns tell about our characteristics and events. In numerology, “1" stands for the pioneer in the process of discovering its own identity. It stands for the male principle. The Number “2" stands for the female principle and the pairing. The number “9" stands for selflessness and compassion. Encompassing a love for all, it desires to apply its energy to universal service.
The story of my life is aligned with numerology’s numbers. For instance, my path of destiny number says that “You psychically separate the true from the false and can discover and reveal some of the mysteries of life to a waiting world. Similarly, being as I’m Virgo with Aquarius rising, I can be “very avant-garde. He is a forerunner in setting style, discovering new methods, and showing the rest of humanity the way.” This would all apply in many cases, but when I add it all up—scores of characteristics that apply to me—it appears to be more than coincidence that I would have selflessness as a goal. My wife and I recently moved into our dream home in the tall timber 30 miles east of Mount Hood, Oregon. The number “7" is my life lesson number. “You should learn to spend time by yourself, in the woods or by the seashore, where you can get in touch with your inner self and your deepest thoughts because your destiny is to use your mind.” I’m retired. With nothing better to do with my time, I spend a lot of it thinking and writing my thoughts.
Years back, astrologer James Redfield, author of The Celestine Prophecy, for $25, sent me an audio tape of his reading of the stars concerning me, as follows:
“We are going to take a look at two key aspects of your astrological data, your Sun sign and your Moon sign. “We are going to talk about them archetypically. The emotional issue is pointed out by your Moon sign—how this feels as you go through life—talk about your Sun sign—again archetypically—how you naturally uplift people, to give you some good information as you try to find out what your spiritual mission is.”
“We have a new image of what it means to be a human being, how to think of ourselves as growing, evaluating, understanding, that we can connect with our God-self energy. You grow in a Virgo way. Virgo is that part of us that is oriented toward conscientious work. At first unconsciously—and everyone has a different way of reacting—the object is to bring into consciousness the reactions and determine whether or not the reaction is mature or immature—when we can step back and look at our higher self, when need becomes strength.”
“The Vigo ego integration with higher self, and the higher self perspective is going to be defined along the lines of the Virgo archetype, which is, of course, our need for organization: to be effective, to be conscientious about making things better.”
“We all start at immature levels of ego functions. We have a sense of security based on how much we feel in charge of our lives. We want to keep the idea that things are going fine. We have goals we want to achieve. We need to manipulate things to keep everything just right. We need to keep this allusion for security purposes. If new information comes in, we can act defensively. We don't want information that rocks the boat.”
“What happens is that this allusion, based on security control, has to shift to our inner connection, our God-self force that gives us a sense of well being no matter what's going on out there. We have to make that opening on the inside.”
“As you get in touch with your inner energy and start to get in touch with your higher self, you will be guided into how to find that true work expression. It will be shown to you intuitively. This becomes the way you uplift everyone who comes into your life. When you evolve into your higher self you energize those who cross your path. This becomes your greatest talent.”
I want to share what has worked for me. My life is as good as it gets. I think a far more advanced human will emerge out of the current self-fulfilling prophecy. If the Higher Law of the universe can work for me, it can work for others.
