Remember the Alamo
According to Wikipedia, "A self-fulfilling prophecy is a prediction that directly or indirectly causes itself to become true." Case in point: In early November 2007, Karen, my wife, said: "Joe, I hate to think about living in this RV the rest of my life." My response: "Well, don't think about it. That's the way it is." Scarcely had she uttered the words than some money came our way, enough to enable us to buy a home in Big Valley Woods, a 250 acre development of relatively few RV sites and many manufactured home sites.
We spent a month looking. The cost of a new manufactured home was too much, and, there were no desirable sites left in the park. We looked at the homes for sale. None were suitable. We were resigned to sit and wait.
A suitable home in Big Valley Woods was a pig in the poke. On January 1, 2008, I took a walk around the park and discovered that a house had been moved off a highly desirable site. On January 2, I was at the park's office, early. The site was available. I reserved it. On March 2, we set out to find the right manufactured home for us and found exactly what we wanted, first thing, at a significantly reduced price, a price we could afford. We proceeded, still on January 2, to Ashley's Home Furnishings and found that we could pay 25 percent down and take five years to pay the balance. Why should we buy the furniture as we could afford it? We picked the furniture we wanted on January 2. Karen and I drove home with our heads spinning. On January 7, after making quite a few additions to the house, and changing a few items of furniture we'd purchased, it was a done deal-house and furnishings.
In early November 2007, I would have bet my hat that we'd never be able to afford a home. By the end of the year, a home was a pig in the poke. We will be in our new completely furnished dream home no later than March 1, 2008.
Stating that he had lived a hard life, a sixty-year old friend told me he didn't expect to live more than five more years. Two weeks later he fell and broke his neck. I dreaded my future. I ended by going to sea on a sailboat for two years and came back feeling in control of my life. My life is nothing like my old life. It seems that I'm living a charmed life. I think we need to look within for our answers.

Joe!
This is a wonderful blog! Congrats to you and your wife! This is similar to our manifestation of our business in WA 2 months ago!
What beautiful dreams made manifest!
Best,
Aley
Yipppppeeee Joe! Hurrah!
I'm soooo happy for you and your wife! Woohoo! To 2008, a year of New Beginnings!
You remind me sooo much of my dad in that photo…you both dress alike! Same hat, jeans and shirt, glasses and a bright smile, LOL!
Love you, Joe! And yes, as my Amma says above…To dreams being made manifest!!! =)
Congratulations. I hadn't seen a blog from you in a while and was getting worried. I was going to email you today to check on you. I am glad this has all worked out for you.
I don't know why, but my memories of the Alamo was that it was surrounded by all these builidngs. This looks like it is out in the open somewhere. Of course, I was last there in 76.
I thank the American people for their generosity, and especially those who have read my rambles. I shall be eternally grateful. I can't express in words how much you mean to me. I've been talking with myself all these years. Nobody “out there” wanted to hear what I had to say; that is, not until I joined Zaadz. The masses say “they” ought to do something. Here is my reminder that “they” are not looking out for you. That tells you, my friends, that you are very special people. You are willing to do something about the things that need to be changed.
I'm bringing this to your attention because it has been made painfully clear to me from those “out there” that they don't want to hear what I'm about to say. I was a volunteer of World War II. I volunteered my services for my principle. I joined to fight Hitler's tyranny. It was a principle, not a life I gave for something in return from the taxpayers. All I asked for was an equal opportunity. Those “out there” people, those on the take, cause wars and don't think about it. They are helplessly brainwashed, mindless of the perils they are subjecting everyone to. Yet, to say what I'm about to say is an insult to their intelligence.
The principle for which I fought was equal opportunity for all, not a government guarantee from cradle to grave. The people's representatives, in tune with the “out there” people (of course for the vote) have violated the principle for which I fought. Suffice it to say, for the “out there” folks' redistribution ideas, they made it needlessly hard for me as a self-employed worker in many ways, and in violation of my fundamental rights to exist on the fruits of my own labor. With my self-employed business gone, largely because of a meddling government, at one point, on my after tax income, I could not pay my rent. I was locked out, a worker taxed out of house and home. I was not on the welfare wagon. One doesn't forget it. Millions of the working poor are forced to beg for government help. That's the real insult about the redistribution scheme. After being left homeless by federal income tax, now I'm reaping the benefits the mindless gave me-those I insult. This is a benefit I would have had on my own had a mindless government of the people, by the people, for the people let me be.
When the mindless see me buying a new home with their money, are they thinking they will not get the same? Thanking them for their generosity can get you a black eye. The “out there” people are the very reason we are here, my friends.
Because of a service related injury, I applied for and received financial help as an unemployable, disabled veteran of WW II. While the taxpayer help I'm receiving may be no more than I deserve, given the circumstances, we are living longer and there are soon going to be double the number of retired senior citizens living on government entitlements.
It doesn't add up. The people's faithless representatives, and those “out there”people-all of them living in La La Land-have been putting off the answer. The least I can do is to say that none of the above mentioned are going to be around when you need them. Clearly, you are not going to receive what you deserve. Those folks “out there” and their representatives are going to give you higher tax bills and diminishing returns. By getting the facts, should you be insulted?
