The Paranormal is Normal

You want to change the world? Here are some things to think about. The history of civilization is a story of conquest and deprivation. This is not in the nature of humanity. The ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle wrote, To invest the law with authority is, it seems, to invest in God and reason only; to invest a man is to introduce a beast, as desire is something bestial, and even the best of men in authority are liable to be corrupted by passion

I reported to you that my hearing suddenly improved. I have not worn my hearing aids for a week. The paranormal is defined as beyond the scientifically known. What I think counts for naught, as far as the scientifically known is concerned. Not many of us are in the group of scientific know-it-alls, or the group of legal know-it-alls, or the group of religious know-it-alls.

We are consciously aware of far more than any other life form on the planet. “Beasts” mature and are left on their own. Our human authorities don’t think we ordinary humans ever mature enough to be on our own. Since they believe the world would fall apart were it not for them, obviously, they don’t have the common sense of beasts.

An authoritarian world has been going on since ancient shamans took charge of our lives. Authorities don’t want you to know the truth of the matter—that you come equipped, as James Allen, author of As A Man Thinketh wrote: As a being of Power, Intelligence and Love, and the lord of his own thoughts, man holds the key to every situation, and contains within himself that transforming and regenerative agency by which may make himself what he wills.

The cutting edge of science, that which I’ve been writing on, does not limit its study to matter, motion, energy, and force. Quantum physics admits consciousness in the mix, something we all possess. Quantum physicist Evan Harris Walker, in The Physics of Consciousness, wrote: Matter, objects—a physical domain exists that is governed by immutable laws. But these laws leave open a range of happenings that are left to the selection of the mind. Behind this selection is the will.

Walker wrote, “The will works much like a communications channel that links all of us to a common control center. Within the power of our combined will lies the power to do essentially anything. . . This is a God of our collective will and the collective will of the universe.” This is the God of us all. We’ve been dumbed down to understand a phony god, the invention of authorities.

Did the God of all of us not give me back my hearing? During my time at sea, I “heard” cries for help from beyond my range of hearing and sailed straight to three scuba divers. They had been caught in an ocean current. They had drifted miles from their dive boat. In a violent storm at sea, I managed to steer Bold Venture, my 37 foot sloop, to safety. Twelve hours after the storm hit us we arrived at my estimated time of arrival and sailed into the inlet through breaking seas. My crew of three called it a miracle. God’s hand was on my wheel.

John Newton was a ship’s captain who plied the slave trade. In a storm as sea, he was awakened to his true nature. He became a minister of the Gospel and wrote Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me. Jesus remains our truest friend. The Christian church has not taken his place. His message: Blessed are the poor in spirit: for their’s is the kingdom of heaven.

Am I picking on Christianity? I don’t this so. A Christian informed me that if I believe in psychic phenomena God will never speak to me. Another Christian informed me that I’m the work of the devil, and another that I’m a secular humanist. A secular humanist is a person who promotes human values without specific allusion to religious doctrine. Does it matter a whit that my experience does not fit with the authorities’ various methodologies for proving things? Most of us believe in psychic phenomena, indeed, have experienced it. I AM THAT I AM, my God-self. Oh, ye of little faith, why should I be ridiculed by a small minority of skeptics? In my opinion, it is the authorities who should be held in contempt. Mark my words. They will be, and the sooner the better. Once we know that we are individuals in our own rights—know it deep down—anything will be possible.
