Food for Thought

The only animal capable of self recognition, other than humans, is the ape. Since apes are similar in appearance, it is logical to think humans evolved from apes. We've this choice: either evolved or created by religion's notion of God, both conceptions totally off the target, if for one reason only: there is only one of us on the planet. It stands to reason that evolution would have produced more than one life form that possessed the conscious awareness and communication skills of humans. It didn't happen by chance, nor did it happen by an imaginary god waving a magic wand and we suddenly appeared out of nowhere. We are a long way from fully recognizing ourselves, a long way from understanding our gift: superior to all other life forms on the planet in conscious capability.

We've yet to fully realize that we've carried self-recognition a step further than any other life form on the planet, to advanced thinking and communicating beyond concrete reality, and I suggest apart from the brain. We're more than meatheads, more than the firing of synapses, more than physical. We humans are not confined to what goes on within our skull, not confined to a place. We've been blessed with boundless conscious awareness. We exist in a universal state of consciousness, and the same for all things, as scientifically proven. We exist in a state of infinite possibility, and if we but knew it, capable of observing more than any other life form on the planet. Obviously, we don't know the truth about us. Often, we don't even exhibit as much sense as lower animals. They kill for survival. We kill our fellow creatures, not for food, but because the authorities have told us it is the right thing to do. Individually, we don't think it is the right thing. We've been misdirected. We are not here to kill one another!

We may be capable of thinking for ourselves but educated to let others think for us. How consciously aware is an ant? Ants exist in a world that is directed by a common mind. Why do we act like ants? We humans have individual minds. We can be self-directed, or directed by self-anointed authority. By allowing others to think for us, we allow others to use our individual energy to build ivory towers, to think of themselves as the saviors of mankind, with, of course, conflicts with other saviors, the absolute proof that the world's recognized authorities are self-directed egomaniacs. Unfortunately , by the time we wake up to the fact that we've been led down a garden path, it is too late to stop the maniacs. "We do as the Romans do." My friends, it takes consciousness to know consciousness, and therein lies the flaw in our thinking.

Science knows that we can be made to obey the commands of authorities-turned from consciously aware humans into behavioral creatures jumping through hoops. We can be made to think of ourselves as inferior to our masters. An example is Germany's Jews obediently proceeding to their demise. What would have happened if they had all died fighting for their lives. I dare say there would have been a lot of dead Nazis. Those Jews remaining learned, and are blamed by religious maniacs for wanting a piece of the action.

There are a lot of theories out there, all of them manmade, and for ulterior motives. Call my theory my mind or my soul speaking to me, but do not call it religion. Religion exists in a place made to order for authority, made to make me inferior and authority great. Is my left hand inferior to my right hand? How can one be inferior to something of which he is a part, which is not the church built of bricks and mortar, and self-directed authority? No, nothing of this earth, the ultimate one can be is selfless-fully in touch with the consciousness of the universe, the creator of all things.

No, if we were thinking, would we demand that our neighbors share the fruits of their labor with us, on the flimsy excuse that they have more? Is this being our brother's keeper? No, it is helping make our brothers spineless worms dependent on wolves in sheep's clothing. I dare say that without said wolves we would think we are capable of coping without the help of others. Where would authority be? We surely don't need authorities to tell us what we need. We need functionaries to do as we, the people, bid. The pity of it all is that we don't know what it would be like if we were left to think for ourselves. I'm counting my blessings. I think we're approaching a time when the majority will think as I think.

I don't believe any religion's god is the one and only god. Some people have told me that I speak for the devil. Now that I've spoken my mind, those people who don't agree with me have the opportunity to tell us exactly how I've spoken for the devil, why they are privileged to kill other humans in God's name.

It would be nice if the pope would tell the folks why his God is the only God, but he isn't going to tell us.  Why should he? It is nice having so many in agreement with me. Thank you very much.

Peace be with you, Joe

Hello, Joe.  There are some interesting parallels in our thinking.  If you have a chance, check out my blog www.divineprimate.zaadz.com/blog.  There is an introduction to my work at the very end of the blog.

I, too, am interested in the primate mind - not chiefly the minds of religious primates - but the general, run of the mill, human mind and the general chimpanzee or bonobo mind.

One caveat, however, about the history of the holocaust.  Germany's Jewish people escaped in far, far larger numbers than those in Poland and Hungary.  And what of the Polish People who were conquered and placed into slavery, or executed, by the millions?  Resistance to the Nazi's, although it certainly occurred, was met with massive retaliations by the Nazi regime, and the world just watched, with its hands over its eyes, much like Darfur.  It is easy to blame a conquered nation, or a small, despised minority for their own slavery, inquisitions and holocausts, because that helps the world cope with its guilt and complicity.  Note that the audaciously smooth running of  “final solution” trains and concentration camps would not have been possible without American data processing equipment to keep track of each individual.  And the Nazi Blitzkreig, itself, might not have been possible without massive use of amphetamines.  They were only following orders.

It is one thing to envision adult men marching in compliance with the orders of an oppressor.  It is quite another thing to do so because your mother or sister or child will be shot dead, hung or disemboweled in front of you, or sent to Dr. Mengele for medical or sexual experimentation if you don't comply.  To make your point, rather than use the holocaust, a far better example of mindless lockstep marching is the American consumer and the American voter.

Peace,

Earon

WHAT??!!
You lost me, dude, in the first two paragraphs.  You are greatly underestimating our four-legged, finned, feathered, and/or scaled brothers.  I'd even venture to say that there are indeed animals living on our planet with far more complex forms of thought and communication than humans, we just aren't smart enough to understand them.

Why would you think only humans and apes have self-recognition? Look at whales and dolphins, to give just one example. I’ve seen many other examples too…
