Objectivism versus Existentialism

Ayn Rand, author of Atlas Shrugged, spread the philosophy she called objectivism: the "pursuit of happiness" or "rational self-interest" was only morally possible under capitalism. There is nothing intrinsically immoral about either capitalism or socialism. There are greedy capitalists and oppressive socialists. Moreover, there is nothing wrong with being objective, if one knows everything about everything and everyone.

We are moving away from objectivism and toward existentialism-when wealth flows from innovation, not optimization; that is, "when wealth is not gained by perfecting the known but by imperfectly seizing the unknown," claimed Kevin Kelly in Wired Magazine. Just between me and you, my dear friends, there is more to it than the acquisition of things. I've never had so little in things and never so happy.

Existentialism is a twentieth century philosophical movement which claims individual human beings have full responsibility for creating the meaning of their own lives, in reaction to the other philosophies in play. It's the idea of being true to one's self.

Existentialist Nietzsche asked if man was God's mistake or God was man's mistake. The Bible says human beings are made in God's image. We are not gods. We don't know it all.

In reality, capitalism and socialism are superfluous words. One can be so wrapped up in self as to be an egomaniac (extreme in ego), an unfortunate thing, since the majority of human beings lean toward selflessness (have little concern with self), thus allowing a small minority who lean toward egomania to take control, and in cases outright egomaniacs in control.

To correct Rand's mistaken idea, I maintain that the human being is natively subjective; that is to say, either leaning toward being wrapped up in self or selfless, and there is all the difference in the world in being selfless and selflessness. The true meaning of selflessness is one who is just, who is self directed to universal service, one who has attained the highest level of human beings, one who wants to share with his or her fellow humans the greater meaning in being human. Selflessness is one's native goal, man's future self.

These thoughts didn't come to me out of the blue. They came from conscious awareness of the collective unconsciousness, Carl Jung called it. Astrologer James Redfield, author of The Celestine Prophecy, in a personal audio tape to me, said one's moon sign is how one feels as he or she proceeds through life's cycles (in nine steps according to numerologists), and again, archetypically, how one naturally uplifts people, how one finds his or her spiritual mission in life.

The existentialist view would be a God-self-that everyone has a different reaction, and that we can know our higher self, that with ego integration with one's higher self, when one needs the strength, as intelligent beings and lords of our own thoughts, we can be prepared, and chance always favors this individual over others, it is written in the stars that in our future the prepared individual leaves the selfless Neanderthal extinct.

In knowing one's God-self, one becomes highly perceptive and more conscientious about making things better for all. It gives one a sense of inner security which is radiated to others. One's God-self becomes a great power in the synchronistic flow with the universe's collective will, when mind is in control of matter.

Embraced by the Light,
by Betty J. Eadie, tells of a near-death experience. Eadie had a bad background, She never felt that Jesus loved her. In her near-death experience, lots of spirits met Eadie. Jesus was there. They all loved her and she dearly loved them. Jesus told Eadie that we create our own world and universe. She learned that she was at one with everything and bonded spiritually with everyone, and that we should never compare our strengths and weaknesses to others, that our purpose in life is to love one another.

Eadie was told that we pick who we want to be born to for special learning experience. After learning her purpose in life, Eadie agreed to return, on consideration that after a very hard life she would be allowed to know her purpose in returning. After it was all revealed to her, Eadie lived a wonderful life in the knowledge that Jesus loved her.

We are not locked into our present paradigm. We are now at the threshold of a quantum leap in our human evolution. More and more of us sense it. We've come to that point in our evolutionary cycles when individual involvement is a necessity for our continued existence. The energy is building to critical mass for the greatest of changes ever in human history.

Hi inlink you have covered a lot of ground here…my hunch is Ayn Rand like most today did not have any clue about the blindspot of capitalism that i discuss in my cc pod. In the deep quantum domain all is interdependant (as Buddha said) and related to all else, so the division and dualities between subjective-objective, mind-matter, ego-egolessness dissipates…and the whole awakened individual is also simultaneously universal in nature.
